DTN COMMENTS: The country is quiet this afternoon with bids and asking 
prices not established. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed 
until Thursday or later. 

Today's slaughter totaled 125,000 head, 1,000 more than a week ago, but 
2,000 below a year ago. Cattle futures closed mixed on live contracts, off 
90 to up 112, deferreds fared better than nearbys. Feeder issues ended 
they day higher, up 70 to 110. Beef cutouts are expected to close higher 
with light to moderate box movement.
